Privacy policy
This policy explains the data-related features of NetLimiter and the services used by the Android app and website.
1. What NetLimiter does
NetLimiter is an Android bandwidth-limiting utility. It uses Android's local VPN interface to manage network traffic on the device. It is not a remote VPN anonymity service and does not promise to hide your IP address.
2. Core app and local preferences
App settings such as chosen speed limits, control modes and privacy preferences are handled in the app. The VPN interface processes traffic needed for bandwidth limiting. NetLimiter's optional feedback submission does not automatically attach VPN payloads, browsing destinations, selected-app lists or diagnostic logs.
3. Optional analytics and crash reports
Firebase Analytics is disabled by default and can be enabled or disabled with the Analytics preference. Firebase Crashlytics collection is also opt-in through Anonymous Crash Reports. These third-party services may handle diagnostic or usage information under their own privacy policies when enabled.
4. Notifications and remote settings
If you choose to enable update notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging may use a device messaging token to deliver news and update alerts. You can disable notifications in the app or Android settings. Firebase Remote Config provides update, maintenance and announcement settings to installed app versions.
5. Feedback you choose to send
When you use the feedback form, your selected category, message, optional reply email, app version and language are sent to Firebase services for support. The app can use anonymous Firebase authentication for submitting feedback. Do not include passwords or sensitive information in feedback.
6. Advertising and consent
The app integrates Google AdMob and Google's User Messaging Platform for ad consent and privacy controls. If ads are enabled and eligible, Google and its partners may process information for advertising according to their policies and your applicable choices. The app's optional Analytics preference is separate from advertising consent.
7. This website
The supplied website has no advertising trackers or web analytics SDK. The language switch saves your preference locally. The site uses Google Fonts, so your browser may contact Google to load font files. The hosting provider may process technical request information such as IP addresses and access logs to serve and protect the site.
8. Third-party services and choices
The app uses selected Google services, including Firebase and AdMob. You can manage the permissions and in-app opt-in choices described above. Android settings also let you review VPN permissions, notification permissions and installed apps.
9. Contact
For privacy questions or requests about feedback you submitted, contact the publisher at the support email below. Please include enough information to help locate the relevant feedback without sending unrelated personal data.
